Haven’t seen Fat Daddy in a while. I’m really not sure how he keeps his kitchen operating. And that kid at the end is the debut of Fat Daddy’s nephew Demetrius.
Oh and make sure you check out this weeks Fan Art Friday.
For today’s Fan Art Friday I bring you my version of the main characters from ‘Hermit Hill’ by Nate Bramble. Nate ran the comic from 2007-2010. I hated to see it go, but I’m glad that I was able to get a book of this fine strip. ‘Hermit Hill’ if you don’t remember was about Walter, a man that just waned to be left alone. But the world seems to find him on top of his hill.
Krishna over at PC Weenies is doing an experiment for the next month or so. He’s picked two people and he’s gonna mentor them in drawing. I’m glad he’s doing it, it’s a great way to give back to the webcomic community. Krishna is going to take their drawings and critique them on his blog and help them better their drawing ability. Now I tried to get into this experiment but I didn’t. But that won’t stop me from playing along. So here’s my assignment for this week. A full-body drawing of a heavy set tall man that conveys anger, tired, and happiness.
And Krishna encourages people to play along and put your links in the comment section. He should have the drawing from his mentees tomorrow on his blog.
Review – Jumblaya! A Comic Anthology by Matt McCray, Volume 1
By Sean on December 8th, 2011Posted In: blog
I’ve been a fan of Matt’s for a while now and I’m glad that he decided to compile some of his comics into a collection. ‘Jumblaya!’ is a very diverse collection, 13 in total. There’s a little bit for everyone, romance, betrayal, robots. Matt does a good job of telling compelling stories within a limited amount of pages. The featured stories in this collection are ‘Eight Legs One Demand’, ‘Conversations in Orbit’, ‘Mortal Kourting’ and my favorite, ‘The Darkshore Detectives #1’. Not only do the stories suck you in but the art is top notch as well. I can’t wait for Volume 2
You can get a hold of a copy of this Anthology at http://bit.ly/jumblaya
And make sure to check out all the other stuff Matt is doing over at http://www.inkwellian.com/
The store is open! You can now buy Underwhelmed books. I have a couple of choices for ya, you can either get the physical book or a PDF download. So the books I have are the second collection “Pigging Out” which includes 200 comics from 2010 and 2011. And Volume One which has every comic from 2008 and 2009. Each come with some extra stuff.
So, please show your support for the comic. I’ll also have them available on the Illustrated Section, if that’s more your thing. (but they might not be up on there yet)
