Today’s Comic: “All about the Commercials”

I don’t think Doyle is to concerned with the actually game of the Super Bowl. He didn’t even watch it last year.

I want to thank Brian Dunaway over at Comics Coast to Coast for picking Underwhelmed as “webcomic pick of the week”. I’m very surprised and honored to be selected. The podcast covers all things Comics and is one of the best on the subject. Go over and have a listen. [iTunes Link]

Oh and make sure to check out Mr. Dunaway’s Comic over at “Guy in a bush” and follow him on Twitter.

I love Twitter! Someone on there started a new hash tag #ifitweresyndicated. The point is to draw your online comic as if it were in the paper. What a cool idea! It gave me a chance to try out my new scanner and try to do a comic “Traditionally” instead of all digital. Underwhelmed if it were syndicated

marxsbrosI’ve been watching a lot of Marx Bros over the weekend, just had to draw a picture of them!

This was a lot of fun to do. I originally stumbled across “The 25 Expressions Challenge”  exercise over at the webcomic Optipes. It looked like a fun little project to do and I wanted to try it. I just hope I was able to convey the emotions correctly – I think “hollow/blank” was the easiest to do. :) You can see Kristians version here. If you want to try it out yourself download a copy here.

Happy New Year everyone! I’m soo excited for the coming year. I never thought that I would ever have a online comic. I’m amazed at what I have created here and sometimes can’t believe that I did all this. Since it’s a new year I thought I’d go through what  I hope to do for 2010.

  • I want to Blog more. Posting things I find interesting on the intertubes and stuff about the comic, like sketches.
  • Want to be more active on Twitter, Facebook and other people’s comic sites.
  • I also want to try new things with the art and push my drawing abilities. They’ve come a long way, but there could always be improvements. Also I want to push the writing a little more, longer stories and i’d like to have some running gags.
  • I want to try to fit in at least one more strip a week. Something like the old newspaper Sundays. I’m thinking of doing something Doyle draws, like his own strip. (I’m still not sure about this one, just getting the idea out there.)
  • I’ve got 200+ comics now and would like to compile them into a book form, if just for me.

Onward and upward!
